Today I am cheering for a football team that could have a perfect record this season. Yes, I am referring to the Green Bay Packers, who currently have 12 wins and 0 losses. They are hosting the Oakland Raiders today. I live in Northern California and used to live in Chicago. Cheering for the Green Bay Packers is not in my blood. Regardless, I am cheering on the Packers today.
Here’s why. We need winners. We need a person or team that can overcome their challenges and achieve greatness. We need a thorough display of talent, smarts and strategy to remind us all that we too can be winners. The competition is great in professional football. Where else do you find obvious winners than on a football field?
The Packers are already winners. They have the best team in football and they do not have the revenue base of the New York or Dallas teams. They found a way to win with less $$.
They also found a way to win in the NFC, which has so much parity that 10 different teams have won the conference in the past 10 years. The system is designed so different teams will rise and be successful. The level of competition is very high.
When you go to work tomorrow, ask yourself where the competition resides. If you’re not doing well at work or your company has financial problems, ask what you have to overcome to be successful. You don’t need access to a large revenue pool like what exists in New York or Dallas. You do have to reach greatness, like what some folks in Green Bay are doing.
