I love dogs, most all dogs. I am not afraid of any, some I have a healthy respect for. What about you? Think about what you want for your best friend.
The work world of today is so different from our parents that it is impossible to compare today and yesterday. My father loved dogs more than anything, yet I never saw him taking our dogs to work. And he worked outside in sparsely populated areas. Today we not only take our pets to work, we make movies about it and we make movies for them. In our grandparents world animals were for work and the occasional pet. Today animals are for pets and the occasional work animal. Certainly our relationship with animals is evolving and most will say for the better. And yet as we move forward with our relationship in the animal world, we do not move as quickly with our involvement with rescues. We all know why these rescues exist and we try to teach caring for the animal population and our world will benefit far more than any of the atrocities we see when it comes to our pets and other animals.
Next week will be an anniversary of sorts when a rescue of a pet created a new world in my home. He has brought so much to our life and I cannot imagine our family without him. Consider a rescue for your next pet; you might be surprised at the companionship and love you receive. www.animalrescue.com
