Due to social media, news spread like lightening in Boston around 7 p.m. this evening when news of Whitney Houston's death was announced. My first reaction was one of disbelief, especially since the same scenario recently occured with news of Jon Bon Jovi's falsified death announcement.
But, sadly, Whitney Houston was found dead at 48 in her Beverly Hills hotel room, leaving her 13-year old daughter behind. Was it drugs? Nobody knows for sure, but the speculation is that years of drug abuse caught up with her on the heels of a Beverly Hills night of partying. Time will tell.
But in the meantime, Beverly Hills, Boston and the entire world is in a state of shock and saddened by this news. Boston radio stations are playing her songs in dedication to the beautiful woman with an intoxicating voice that made you listen to her over and over again.
The Grammy's are tomorrow and the ambiance will surely be one filled with loss, shock and sadness. In August, Whitney's film will be released, and her songs will continue to be played forever, no doubt, so Whitney will live on.
