Romans 8:28-30 (NLT)
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God are called according to His Purpose. This is true. It doesn’t matter if you believe it or not – the Word of God is not validated by human belief. It is the unchangeable and undeniable Truth by which this world was formed and everything in it. We are subject to the Word of God whether we read a single word or not – it is the supreme authority based on the Sovereignty of God alone. Everything changes for us when we add the words…”we know!” When we know God’s Word, we know God. When we study the Word, we begin to understand His Way. When we obey His Word, everything will work together for good because we have accepted His Call and Purpose for our life. Jesus Christ gave us the power to choose when He died on the Cross, marched into hell snatching the keys to death and the grave and plopped down at the right hand of God. Now He waits for all of His Enemies to become a footstool. (Hebrews 10:12-14) We are the firstborn of many brothers and sisters if we believe and choose to live accordingly. We are God’s Chosen People. Created in His Image. Called by His Grace. Given the Authority to stand in the Power and Presence of God now and forever more. In all of this, God will be glorified. Okay, so what gives? Why are so many people experiencing defeat, despair and disappointment rather than the overwhelming victory offered by Christ? Where are the good things that He has promised? It all begins with “we know” but too many people do not know!
Hebrews 11:1-2 (Message)
The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.
We know implies real and authentic faith that allows us to trust the Lord. Faith is the firm foundation under everything that we have been promised and hope for. It allows us to remain on course even when we do not see the good that we are after or when people break our heart dashing our dreams. Faith distinguished our ancestors (set them apart, consecrated them, moved them to a higher level in God) that set them above the crowd. Oh, that we could be set above the crowd today and unaffected by mere mortals standing in the Image of our Father, Almighty God! What will it take to make us love and trust Him more? God will do it in desperation for you and I to claim our inheritance as Children of God that makes everything go according to His Plan and His Goodness to reach us. Disappointment comes when we accept less than God’s Best rather than sticking it out to the end. Yet in that moment, we blame God for not meeting our needs and expectation when it was our inability to remain faithful and true to the Word of God by faith because we know that He is faithful to complete every good work that He has begun in our life. (Philippians 1:6) We don’t trust God because we do not know Him.
Genesis 1:26-30 (NLT)
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened.
What a glorious day, when God created mankind in His Image. I am sure that all of heaven rejoiced as a new family welcomes a newborn child. It was a day of great rejoicing. God had high hopes and expectations for His Created Ones according to the carefully handwritten plans for every person who would grow from these two “seeds” that He planted on the earth to fill it. But God knew that this day would not last, He saw what was ahead. His Precious People who easily exchange the Truth for a lie and rely on that which they could see above all that they knew. Faith would die that day inside the heart of man as sin entered their bodies corrupting the image in which they were created. There would be tough times ahead. But God knew that seed of faith tucked away in their body (Romans 12:2) and the Eternity resting in their heart (Ecclesiastes 3:11) would empower them to find their way home when the Word came. Every fiber of your being and detail of your existence has been given life by God. Repentance allows us access the Resurrection Power of God demonstrated when Jesus Christ left the grave behind. You have everything you need to change the outcomes in your life. God gave them to you. Christ took the Keys of the Kingdom from the enemy and handed them right back to you. His Holy Spirit lives in you fanning the spark of faith in your soul and digging away at that stony heart for the Eternity that is hidden there. God chose you before the world began, even before the first human being drew breathe to rule and reign with Christ forever. (Ephesians 1:3-5) It is time to step back into the image of our Creation. We are Children of God now it is time to start living like it because we know who we are and who our Daddy is.
Isaiah 40:18-25 (NLT)
To whom can you compare God? What image can you find to resemble him? Can he be compared to an idol formed in a mold, overlaid with gold, and decorated with silver chains? Or if people are too poor for that, they might at least choose wood that won’t decay and a skilled craftsman to carve an image that won’t fall down! Haven’t you heard? Don’t you understand? Are you deaf to the words of God—the words he gave before the world began? Are you so ignorant? God sits above the circle of the earth. The people below seem like grasshoppers to him! He spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent from them. He judges the great people of the world and brings them all to nothing. They hardly get started, barely taking root, when he blows on them and they wither. The wind carries them off like chaff. “To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?” asks the Holy One.
Is God out of sight out of mind? For many this is true as they struggle to find people and obtain things to fill the void left when we do not have a thriving relationship with the Lord. Nothing can compare to the Greatness, Glory and Power of God which is our expectation created in His Image. We have expensive tastes in faith that are not satiated by things of this world but we try nevertheless to fill our life with things of this world. Our plan and purpose is based on God’s Word concerning our life which is filled with promises and blessings provided by the Creator of the Universe who has power and authority over every detail of our life but still chooses to allow us the freedom to choose blessing or cursing, life or death. Nothing and no one compares to the Majesty and Greatness of Almighty God. It is only in His Presence that we get a glimpse of who He is and how very much the Lord loves His People. We must put God in our sight and fill our mind with His Word so that we will love and trust Him more accepting every good thing He has planned for our life.
Colossians 1:15-16 (NLT)
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
God knew in His Omniscience that mankind would reject the unseen reality of His Deity. Jesus who is the visible image of the Invisible God came to set His People free and grant us Grace to return to the Father. Well, that didn’t go over too great. The people killed the Son of God. If we truly embraced the magnitude of that moment, it would change our life forever. If someone pushed you out of the way of an oncoming car, and died from their injuries they would be your hero. If an organ donor provided the necessary organ to keep a loved one alive, you would mourn with their family and celebrate their life. If an innocent person died for you in this life, you would forever feel indebted to that person. All of these scenarios will not save you from dying one day, just not that day. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He freely gave His Life for you not so you could live another day but forever. He was an innocent man. Why don’t we celebrate His Life every day and the Gift that we have been given?
Isaiah 55:8-11 (NLT)
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”
When I was learning to ride a bike without training wheels, I was petrified. My father took me to a road with a slight incline so I would gain momentum as I learned to balance and pedal at the same time. He would begin running behind the bike pushing me but all of a sudden fear would overtake me and I would dig my feet into the ground. It was a dirt road so he would sputter and choke in the aftermath of my dragging feet, trudge up the hill and we would start again. He kept saying, “Lori, trust me. I am not going to let you fall or get hurt!” Over and over again we would start and stop until I decide to trust my dad. I learned how to ride a bike that day. We must learn to trust our Heavenly Father and understand the Work that Jesus Christ completed on the Cross to live the supernatural plan designated by God for our life. His Thoughts are nothing like our thoughts so we must learn how God thinks to see things from His Perspective and not human reasoning. His Ways are so much higher than our ways but without elevating our thinking we remain subject to people’s opinions and logic. God’s Word has reproductive power in our life. By choosing to know the Word of God – we accept this power in our life and it will begin to yield results as we live according to the provisions of heaven rather than that of the earth. God’s Word will be accomplished. We just need to get with the program and learn to trust our Father in Heaven more than what see, feel and know in this world.
James 1:17-18 (NLT
Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
The Lord has already decided to provide, promote and prosper you. It is a done deal now if He can only get you to believe it is true so you will know the Word and accept its potential. Every good and perfect gift is from the Father. He is ready to open the Windows of Heaven and pour into your life. There is nothing you can do to change His Mind. He knew you beforehand and decided to do it anyway. You just must accept His Word for your life by faith. He gave birth to you naturally by His Word and Spiritually. God created you (Psalm 139:16) and sent you to the earth naturally. Jesus Christ came that we may experience new live through spiritual rebirth. (John 1:10-14) He was the Word of God wrapped in flesh. But the world did not love and embrace the Word of God sent to them, they killed it. The world hated Jesus. So why are we surprised when they do not understand, accept, mock or turn their back on us when we choose to live by faith in the Word of God? (John 15:18-20) Those who choose to live by faith and believe God at His Word will lose friends but influence others. It is just the way it is. If you have not experienced rejection based on your belief in Jesus Christ or the enemy has not sent any opposition, it is time to re-evaluate what you believe and how you live! We are His Prized Possession. The enemy hates us. The closer we strive to be like the Lord and live for Him, the greater the challenges that come our way. God sent Jesus Christ as the true word. Jesus sent us His Spirit to live inside of us. The Word created you, saved you and is working in you. Do you know the Word? Many will choose to worship what they see or can create in their life. (Romans 1:22-24) But faith and confident hope are reserved for those things that we cannot see or produce in our life. Again I ask, do you know the Word?
Ephesians 6:13-28 (NLT)
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Every facet of God’s Armor is found in God’s Word. You cannot survive the attack of the enemy if not enveloped in the Word of God, standing on faith and living in confident hope fully trusting the Power of God around you and inside of you. The Word strengthens faith. The Word produces confident hope. The Word of God is working in your life. Do you know the Word? Or are you involuntarily nullifying it by ignorance and unbelief? (Hosea 4:6) You cannot see the enemy working behind the scenes until he is exposed by the Light of God’s Love. (Ephesians 6:11-12) People are not your problem either. Faith in anything other than God is our greatest weakness. It is overcome by the Word. We love this life and are afraid to lose it because we have no concept of the reality of the Kingdom of God so we settle for so much less than the Lord has designated for His Most Prized Possession. (John 12:24-26) It’s time to elevate our thinking and meet God where He is! There is so much more to life than this. You are destined by God to prosper, reproduce, fill the earth, and take charge. (Genesis 1:26-30…Remember) So what’s keeping you? We must grab hold of that reality found in His Word, believe it and live like it. Our confession must be “we know”.
Romans 10:17 (NLT) So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
