I’m here to share a couple things with you from my Brooks Laich interview from yesterday. First of all ladies, Mr. Laich does have a pretty rough cut near the eyes, but don’t worry, it’s nothing that would prevent him from being on the cover of GQ next month. Second of all, Ovechkin might like getting nachos, but there is very little Brooks enjoys about sitting in the press box. We have that and his comments about his health in our brief interview that you can read below.
Michael Hoffman: “First of all how are you feeling?
Brooks Laich: “I’m fine.”
MH: “If it was a playoff series you think you’d be able to go out there on the ice?”
BL: “Yeah most likely I think I would. We’re in a fortunate position where we are in the playoffs and there’s a brighter day ahead, so just making sure everything’s fine for when I come back.”
MH: “Now they could come back in this, but not being on the ice for a game like this, the team is down 4-0, (end of 1st period) is that hard for you? “
BL: Yeah. (chuckles) It sucks sitting up here. It’s not something I'm used to or accustomed to and I hope I never am. It’s definitely harder to watch than it is to play, but when you are not playing you support the guys, hope they do their best and try to help out in any way you can whether it’s in the locker room or just giving them a pat on the back.”
BL: “First you’re kind of scared. You’re sore at first, felt like someone hit you in the face with a hammer is kind of what it feels like. And then after that just concerned about the extent of the injury. Am I gonna miss time or am I gonna be okay? Luckily there’s nothing major that’s wrong. My teeth are okay, my eyeballs are okay, so the real scary things are okay. So for now just try and heel up, you get better each day and hopefully be out practicing with the team right away and back playing very soon.
