We can't live without water: March 22 is World Water Day (Photos)

Every one needs water for survival. However, so often we take water for granted. Let's honor water on this day.

March 22 is World Water Day.

The purpose of World Water Day is to raise awareness about the state of sustainable freshwater resources around the world. More than 880 million people on the planet do not have access to safe drinking water, and the amount of water we need to drink and to produce food, goods, and services continues to grow.

The United Nations General Assembly announced the first World Water Day in 1993. On this day every year, thousands of participants attend the World Water Forum to discuss the important issues concerning water.

On World Water Day on March 22, people are celebrating worldwide by doing various thing and participating in events. Join others who are taking action to raise awareness on water issues and improving the management of water resources.
