WDTU's 37th Annual Fly Tying Clinic set for Feb. 9

West Denver Chapter is holding its 37th Annual Fly Tying Clinic Feb. 9. It's a great event where anglers can come and learn how to tie the most effective fly patterns or hone their casting skills, and just maybe better your odds of catching more fish in the Rocky Mountains. "Attendees can observe and interact with the most creative and successful tiers in the region," said Jon Weimer, WDTU chapter president. "Join us and participate in a silent auction and a giant bucket raffle to win terrific fishing gear. "The event will also feature certified fly caster, Jonathan Walters," added Weimer. "Learn to cast or just hone your skills as well. See and cast hand-crafted bamboo fly rods made by Alan Kube, recently named bamboo rod maker of the year." This clinic is recognized as one of the premiere events of its kind, with approximately 60 tiers from the Rocky Mountain region displaying their skills. The Feb. 9 event is held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $10 ($8 with a discount coupon which can be obtained at most local fly shops). Children 12 and under are admitted free.
