The WDAF-TV FOX 4 Crystal Apple Award contest nominations are due Friday, March 15, 2013.
The award program honors teachers, educators and counselors.
The nominee's school/job site must be within a sixty mile radius of the TV station.
Nominators and nominees must reside in Kansas or Missouri. Four winning entries will be selected by a panel of judges comprised of community leaders and WDAF-TV personnel, who will review essays and answers to the questions on the nomination forms. Nominations require a 500 words or less description of:
- How the nominee goes above and beyond his/her job description to inspire students to achieve their goals.
This year's winners will receive:
- A Crystal Apple Award
- Two round trip Southwest Airline tickets
- Other gifts
- Total prize value of $1,200
Since the award's inception 18 years ago, FOX 4 has honored more than 100 individuals.
