WCOA AM and FM begin broadcasting local radio program earlier than usual

WCOA AM and FM (1370 and 100.7; both stations are licensed to Pensacola, Florida) recently started broadcasting "Good Morning Gulf Coast", a local news and discussion program, between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on a regular basis in addition to the time period between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m in accordance with their new programming schedules for Monday through Friday (see schedules for WCOA-AM and WCOA-FM). The new time period for the program was announced on the official World Wide Web site for the stations and their official Facebook pages on Sunday, January 6th (see Facebook pages for WCOA-AM and WCOA-FM).

Before the broadcast time for "Good Morning Gulf Coast" was expanded, WCOA-AM usually broadcast "The Wall Street Journal This Morning" between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday and WCOA-FM usually broadcast a recording of "Red Eye Radio" between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday. In spite of the changes, both WCOA AM and WCOA-FM were still set to broadcast "Red Eye Radio" live between 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday and WCOA-AM was still set to broadcast "The Wall Street Journal This Morning" live between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday. As for the rest of "The Wall Street Journal This Morning", WAVH-FM (106.5; licensed to Daphne, Alabama) would broadcast the rest live between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday.
