The WCHA announced their awards tonight and again it was Gopher award after Gopher award. Minnesota's special year really came to light with all the awards that were bestowed upon them by the WCHA. Let's take a look at the 2013 awards that Minnesota collected;
WCHA Player of the Year- Amanda Kessel, JR.,Forward.
WCHA Defensive Player of the Year- Megan Bozek, SR., Defense.
WCHA Rookie of the Year- Hannah Brandt, Forward.
WCHA Coach of the Year- Brad Frost, Minnesota.
WCHA Goaltending Champion- Noora Räty, SR., Minnesota
WCHA Scoring Champion- Amanda Kessel, JR., Forward
And now for the All-WCHA first team Gophers...
Amanda Kessel, Hannah Brandt, Megan Bozek, and Noora Räty.
And All-WCHA third team honorees...
Kelly Terry, Mira Jalosuo, and Rachel Ramsey.
Finally, the WCHA All-Rookie team...
Hannah Brandt, Maryanne Menefee, and Milica McMillen.
It might have been easier to just congratulate the entire team. Congrats to all 100 student athletes that made the academic team as well!
