Rumors have been speeding around faster than the Flash, regarding the new Justice League movie. There's little doubt that given the success of Marvel's Avengers movie, that Warner Bros and DC Comics are not going to go through with a JLA film. So the real question remains— Which heroes will comprise the JLA?
According to Comic Book News the official line-up has been chosen and will consist of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Flash, Martian Manhunter and Aquaman. As to who will be playing the parts... well, that's still up in the air.
We know that it's likely that Man of Steel star Henry Cavill will probably star as Superman (unless the upcoming movie tanks). And Comic Book News seems sure that Ryan Reynolds will be back as Green Lantern (although as a more serious version). It's still up in the air if Christian Bale will return as Batman, but one suspects that if offered enough money that he'll don the cowl once again. As for the other heroes— it's all up in the air since WB has not made a film involving the other characters in solo action...yet.
Although there is still no "official" script (it's being penned by Will Beall), rumors are that Beall will be taking cues from a 1980's JLA comic book storyline involving Darkseid. Beall's only other screen writing credit is the upcoming Gangster Squad (2013) and a reboot of Lethal Weapon (release date unknown).
According to WB, the film is set to hit theaters sometime in 2015.
So do you have high hopes for the JLA movie or are you cautiously optimistic? Let us know what you think.
