Ways to work winter neutrals into your wardrobe

One the most important trends in fashion for Winter 2009 is the winter neutral. These come in a variety of shades from almost-bright white to nearly brown and can be incorporated into your regular wardrobe easily.

One way to mix in a winter neutral is by using it in another trend. Ponchos seem to come back every year, so keep your old ones handy or pick up a new one at your local resale shop or on eBay. A winter white fringed poncho looks great with pants, or as seen in the photo on the left, a skirt. This embellished silk skirt is something that could have been worn all summer, and with the addition of the poncho and a gold brocade with suede accents shoulder bag, it's ready to be worn into the fall. With some warm tights and a boot, this look is great for the winter months as well.

Please see the slideshow for more winter neutral looks. All of these items will be for auction on eBay in the coming week, and similar items are on sale now in your local thrift, resale, and consignment shops. However, always check out your closet first - you might have a great winter neutral look in there  just waiting to be worn!
