With the economy issues, prices are rising and work is difficult to come by. Many families in Bangor, Maine are worried about whether or not they will be able to purchase gifts for their children and others. They may be worried about having to purchase gifts for their children to give to another child at school, and how to feed their families a special meal on their sabbat or holiday.
Each person has options, even if they are not permanent ones. The following ideas will get you started. Think about your skills and passions to come up with other ideas.
-
Look for seasonal jobs. Department stores, for instance, often hire just for the holidays. Before Christmas the job is over.
-
Babysit for everyone you know who has children. Offer to babysit during work hours, in the evening and while people do their holiday shopping and baking.
-
Make wreaths, holiday cards and ornaments to sell, if you have craft supplies on hand.
-
Offer to do the holiday baking for those who are too busy this year.
-
Other services you might provide to busy families are gift wrapping, holiday decorating,
housekeeping and shopping.
-
Shoveling is another option.
-
Give cooking and baking lessons, or even craft lessons.
As is evident, there are many things you can do to earn money. Some of these options may even provide you with a full time career if desired.
