Take steel boots, and a young teen's head, and you will realize what Wayne Treacy did to a 15 year-old Josie Ratley on that dark March 17th day. On Friday, April 17, one month later, Wayne Treacy is being charged as an adult with premeditated attempted murder in the March 17 attack. He was then moved from the Broward Juvenile Detention Center to the Broward County Jail. Wayne Treacy faces a maximum of life in prison if convicted.
His alleged accomplice, 13 year-old Kayla Manson, will be charged as an juvenile. Although it has been noted that Kayla and Josie were once friends, this day proved anything but friendship.
Wayne Treacy's family recently apologized to the Ratley family on The Today Show.
As Josie Ratley recently regained consciousness, she is still unable to speak and has suffered brain damaged. She is scheduled to undergo another surgery today, April 19th at Broward County General Hospital.

As painful this situation is or everyone involved , there is a very dark cloud over those having such a strong opinions without having all the facts. A professional that understands brain development, depression, PTSD , and the effect of an inappropriate comment regarding the death of Treacy's brother could bring some additional light to the issue. My heart is with Josie, but my heart is also with Treacy. I don't think he should be charged as an adult . Too many responsible adults were not able to see this coming, either.
