Legendary grappler Buddy Wayne is on the mend after having open heart surgery yesterday to repair a fault valve. This is the second open heart surgery Wayne has undergone and doctors removed his breathing tube today and are optimistic that he will make a full recovery. Wayne said he is still in a considerable amount of pain after the surgery but is in good spirits.
Wayne currently runs the Buddy Wayne School of Wrestling in Washington and the school has been called "Ohio Valley West" to which "Hustler" Rip Rogers said If you are out west and not ready for OVW, Buddy Wayne will get you ready. And when he says you're ready, you're ready for OVW." Ohio Valley Wrestling is the premier wrestling school in the mid-west having produced a number of top WWE stars in the past and the group is currently the developmental group for TNA.
A number of current and former wrestling superstars say that Wayne is one of the best instructors in the country and his school will help prepare you for what lies ahead. Many veterans of the ring, including The Honkytonk Man say Wayne and his school are top notch.
The thoughts and prayers of the wrestling community are wishing Buddy Wayne a speedy recovery.
