As one wave of low pressure begins to exit this morning, another is developing to bring the threat for more snow this time for southern New Jersey by tomorrow evening.
Periods of snow and sleet over the northern interior and rain along the coast will continue to move through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas this morning. Snowfall accumulations to the north and west of Philadelphia and New York City have ranged from one to four inches, which is about what was expected. The precipitation will end from west to east late this morning through early afternoon followed by variable cloud cover. Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 30's over the interior and lower to mid 40's along the coast for highs.
Variable cloud cover can be expected tonight on through tomorrow afternoon with winds from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. A strong disturbance over the Southeast will spawn another wave of low pressure along the stationary front leading to a rapid increase in cloud cover throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas by tomorrow evening. Temperatures will range from the upper 20's to mid 30's for lows and upper 30's to mid 40's for highs.
Tomorrow night, periods of light snow will develop over southern New Jersey with minor accumulations expected with accumulations under four inches. The snow will initially have a difficult time accumulating. The rest of the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas can expect variable to overcast cloud cover and a few flurries. Winds will be from the north and northeast at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will fall into the upper 10's to lower 20's over the interior and mid to upper 20's along the coast.
Scattered cloud cover can be expected by Friday afternoon on through Saturday with chilly weather conditions. Another area of low pressure will bring the threat for scattered snow showers on Sunday night with the potential for accumulating snowfall along the coast. A third area of low pressure will be a threat to produce accumulating snowfall as well on Tuesday. Low temperatures through the period will range from the mid 20's to lower 30's for Saturday and Sunday and mid 10's to lower 20's for Monday and Tuesday. High temperatures will range from the mid 30's to mid 40's for Friday through Sunday and mid 20's to lower 30's on Monday and Tuesday.
