Wave Racer and Trippy Turtle tonight at Empire Control Room

The weekend is just a couple days away, but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying some good (free!) music on hump day.

Tonight at Empire Control Room, the Thing presents Wave Racer and Trippy Turtle. Both DJ’s are making a quick reappearance in town after playing a handful of sets during SXSW just a few weeks ago.

It's not hard to become an instant fan of Wave Racer's music. The barista-turned-producer has had an impressively swift comeup and even snagged a spot on BBC 1Xtra’s Diplo and Friends in March. Listen to the mix here. (Check out Trippy’s September Mix too, here)

So exactly who are these two? While Wave Racer has been identified as Aussie youngster Tom Purcell, Trippy Turtle, a Mad Decent family member, has a mysterious bio. Rumor has it he may not even be one person, but the ultimate music troll compiled by several high profile DJs.d Maybe he's the alter-ego of Cashmere Cat. There’s not a lot of information on the young tortoise out there, so check out the show tonight and see for yourself exactly who he is.

Admission is free with an RSVP on Do512 or $10 at the door. Get ready for a great combination of sound, with Wave Racer and Trippy Turtle.
