Hosted by the Waukesha Downtown Business Association, the Friday Night Live Lights 5K begins at approximately 7 p.m., with runners racing east on Main Street. Participants in the untimed fun run will zip through Frame Park, illuminated by electric lights and personal glow devices and accompanied by live band music.
The after-dark closed-course run features nine different stages.
Registration, priced at $35, is open until race night. Waukesha residents and employees of Waukesha businesses may register at discounted prices with coupon codes, available from race organizers.
Packet pickup begins at 5 p.m. on September 27.
A free one-mile kids run will also be held, presented by the City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department. Participants, aged 12 years or younger, complete two miles before the event and receive free tee shirts on race night.
