DOVER-FOXCROFT-- Brian Bellows connected with Jordhan Levine for two touchdown to lead the Waterville Purple Panthers to a 20-19 class C football victory over the Foxcroft Ponies on Friday evening.
"I just rolled out, no one was open at first," Bellows said. "Great blocking by our line and two great catches by him (Levine)."
The Ponies took a 7-0 lead when Hunter Law threw it to Hunter Smith for a 25 yard touchdown reception with 5:18 remaining in the first quarter.
The Law/Smith connection was dynamic all night for the Ponies.
Smith finished with 150 yards and three touchdowns on nine receptions.

The Purple Panthers took a lead they would never give back when Levine caught his second 12 yard touchdown with 1:19 remaining in the second quarter.

Nate Church is a player on coach Luis Ayala's boys soccer team at Foxcroft Academy. Earlier this week, Church decided he wanted to be a kicker on the Ponies football team.
Church made one of two extra points in his first game at Oakes field.
Coach Danny White and the Ponies coaching staff decided to stay away from the pressure situation for Church and attempted the go ahead two point play.
"We have been going for two all year,"White said. "We had a soccer kid fall in our lap this week. He made the first one, missed the second one. We didn't feel it was right to put him in that spot."
This is the second straight home game that the Ponies battled back from a two score deficit. They came back and defeated Belfast 28-27 on September 20th.
"We kept battling. We showed a lot of character,"White said. "We are not going away."
Waterville outscored their opponents 223-30 through the first four weeks.
"This was the game of the year for us,"Bellows said. "We have been waiting for this game all year."
