Waterfront Nightmare, a terse psychological thriller in which seven college friends spend their spring break in a remote waterfront cabin only to discover that their lives are in jeopardy, has been officially selected to screen at the Jaxon Film Fest, September 28 at the historic Michigan Theatre, Jackson. This according to an announcement made August 23.
Written by Jason Whittier and directed by Clark Birchmeier, the film stars Bree Michaels (Jezebeth), Simone Wasserman, Dominic Ryan Gabriel (Silver Clutch), Liana Werner-Gray (The Man In The Maze), Andrew Roth (Abolition), Kef Lee (Scream 4), and many other amazing actors.
"This really was one of the films that forced us to go in the direction we have chosen this year with the film festival," said South Central Michigan Film Alliance interim president David W. King. "Jason Whitter has done such a fine job in crafting this genre film that we knew immediately we wanted to include it in our line-up. "
Shot in Holly, Highland, and Davisburg, Michigan, Waterfront Nightmare features a full cast of Michigan actors and crew members. It has also already been accepted into the Chicago Horror Film, Flint Horror Con Festival, Kastav Film Festival, Trash Film Festival, Cyprus International Film Festival, Salty International Horror Film Festival, and the Corinthian Peloponnesian International Film Festival.
Says Whittier, "Having never had stepped foot on a film set before shooting 'Waterfront Nightmare', it has been absolutely incredible to see this script and film come to life. I never would have imagined that our film would be screened at all these festivals around the country and world."
