Water found in Whitney Houston's lungs

An autopsy has found that Whitney Houston had water in her lungs at the time of her death on Saturday but it was not determined how much or whether it proves that drowning was the cause of death, TMZ.com reports.

Authorities believed that Houston either fell asleep or went into unconsciousness in her bathtub before she drowned, the report said.

Houston died on Saturday while preparing for a pre-Grammy gala at the Beverly Hilton hotel. She was 48.

She is survived by her 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

Autopsy results will be released pending a toxicology review.
