This Saturday June 21 the Alexandria Zoo will be hosting its annual Oceans Day Water Festival.
This is great family fun, and you get to beat the heat.
The Water Festival will last from 10 am through 3 pm this Saturday, and it is open to anyone at the normal zoo admission prices. Everyone is asked to wear their swimsuit or cloths that they do not mind getting wet. All of those in attendance must have flip flops, water-shoes or some sort of shoes on while inside the zoo.
FOTAZ members get in free as usual, with their photo ID and FOTAZ member card. Only those listed on the membership will be able to attend for free. Additional guests will fall under normal zoo entrance prices.
So, come on out and enjoy the fun. With so little to do in Alexandria with the kids this is a party that you won’t want to miss! Your kids are going to love it, and you may surprise yourself and love it too!
"Prepare to enter the wet zone!"
This is a full day of wet and silly fun for the entire family! There will be sprinklers, bubbles, water slides and water games. Music will fill the air, and even the monkeys will be bopping to the beat!
While you are having all that summer fun you can also learn how to preserve our rivers and oceans. There will be World Oceans Day prizes as well. Again, you won’t want to miss this year’s Alexandria Zoo Water Festival; it is going to be the best one yet.
All of the water slides and planned water day activities are free after admission to the zoo. The event is being sponsored by Friends of the Alexandria Zoo and The City of Alexandria. Food will be available for purchase, as well as powerades, slushies and tummies just to name some.
Play and enjoy the day’s festivities, but parents please monitor your children as well. This is an exciting event, and play is by all means encouraged as long as it is not causing a safety risk to themselves or others. Also, there is no smoking inside the zoo.
We will see you this Saturday at the Alexandria zoo. Let's make a day of it!
