Three teens including two juveniles were arrested Saturday after they were allegedly caught breaking into a home in Bibb County by a watchful neighbor.
Investigators have not released the identities of the 14 and 16-year-old boys because they are minors. But the 17-year-old suspect has been identified as Quintaurus Harris, of Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. All three have been charged with burglary, the sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Randy Gonzalez said.
The arrests happened shortly after 1 p.m. when deputies responded to a call at a residence in the 1100 block of Bel Air Drive, Gonzalez said. Witnesses in the neighborhood told deputies they saw three males kick in the rear door of the home and then moments later run outside with some items, he said.
Deputies arrived on scene and chased the three suspects who were all caught near the scene, Gonzalez said. The stolen items were also recovered, he said. But he did not provide any details on what the alleged burglars stole. Harris was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and the two juveniles were transported to the Regional Youth Development Center, Gonzalez said.
This incident is still under investigation and anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at (478) 751-7500 and leave a message for the on-call investigator or call the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at (877) 682-7463.
