It's here football fans, the first official NFL Sunday of 2013 with a slate full of games. Every year I try to compile a list of bars that are official are unofficial bars for certain teams and their fans; In essence a supporters club of a particular team.
So below are some of the most popular teams and their bars for the 2013 season. sI'm not listing the Jets and Giants because this is New York. Cowboys fans are everywhere so their game is always on. Some of these bars have great specials for the game also so check their websites!!
Green Bay Packers: Kettle of Fish (59 Christopher St off 7th Avenue.) The cheeseheads have one of the largest contigents of fans in the NFL and for good reason, they have a great legacy. Yo this bar grills sausages, cheeses, hell everything to make a cheesehead feel at home so get there early.
Chicago Bears; Overlook bar (225 E. 44th St bet. 2nd and 3rd Avenue) A good midtown location if you can't get enough of, "Da Bears". It's time we became the "Monsters of the Midway" again, and yes we I'm a lifelong Bears fan.
Miami Dolphins: Traffic Bar East side location(986 2nd Ave. between 52 & 53rd St) Great colors, great city, great tradition but how the mighty have fallen. Always good to hear them argue with annoying Jets fans though.
New England Patriots: Traffic Bar Hell's Kitchen. As long as they have Brady and Bellichick they will continue to win, especially in that sorry division.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Public House (140 E. 41st st between 3rd Avenue and Lexington.) Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow
Atlanta Falcons: Mustang Sally's (324 7th Avenue between 28th and 29th St) I guess they're not the "Dirty Birds" anymore but this team will definetly challenge for a Super Bowl. Can they bring that dance back though?!?
New Orleans Saints: Bar None (98 3rd Avenue between 12th and 13th St.) Who Dat!! few fans make their team more fun to watch. By the way this is also a Vikings Bar too, bad blood perhaps from 3 years ago?
San Francisco 49ers: Finnerty's Bar (221 2nd Ave bet 13th & 14th st.) The Bay area's finest and almost won the Super Bowl last year.
Detroit Lions: Mercury Bar East (493 3rd Ave. between 33rd & 34th St.) Lions play well because Detroit definitely needs something to cheer about.
