Canadian junior Rose Kalam Woo made a grand impression by winning the Hopes Division of the Combs-la-Ville Tournament that took place this week just south of Paris. On bars, Woo showed a dismount I can't recall seeing before: a double front in the pike position.
We've seen Arabian double pikes off bars (most notably from Li Ya and Ksenia Semyonova), and even a double front pike half out (from Jeannette Antolin in 1999, who was also the first I can recall doing a layout Jaeger) but this is the first double front pike to make an impression.
Check out the routine here or by clicking the video image off to the left, and check out other videos from Combs-la-Ville on Liebetomth's Youtube channel.
Woo, 11, trains with older sister Victoria Kayen Woo at Gym-Richelieu in Quebec. Unbelievably, she's been churning out amazing skills for a gymnast her age since she was about eight. Eight!
