For a watch lover, Geneva Watch Group's presentation on March 15th was timekeeper heaven. In addition to the designers that we talked about in Part 1, there were more pieces shown by BCBG and Breil Milano.
Leading with a colorful quartet of ladies watches called the VIP collection, a squared face with rounded sides framed a line drawing of a flowers surrounding a time-telling pistil. Available in white and rose gold, as well as yellow, black, and green, the piece retails for $125. I can see this worn with something sculptural by Calvin Klein.
My two favorite pieces were a small, textured, vintage styled face paired with a leather band that wrapped around the wrist twice. It had both glamour and edge. The same went for the punkish chrome setting for a classic black watch face, all set in a wide studded leather band. Haute and cool in one piece for $150. You can find the watches at www.bcbg.com, as well as BCBG boutiques.
Breil Milano showed the beautiful craftsmanship that they've been known for since 1939. The Lady collection featured silver faces with half-moon shaped mother of pearl insets. pricier than the previous collections, the restrained beauty is worth every penny of the $425.00 price tag. You could wear one of these with a faded t- shirt and jeans skirt with wedge-heeled sandals and espadrilles on the hottest day and look somehow fresh and cool.
Spring aslo brings Breil Milano jewelry, meant to be worn multiple ways. The Chaos necklace can be worn as a a pendant or lariat necklace, depending on your mood. The Bloom necklace starts as a rounded, stonelike pendant that becomes a string of petal-like beads on a chain. You can buy the pieces from the collections from $95 to $175 at www.niemanmarcus.com as well as www.shopstyle.com.
