America’s favorite sport event is just hours away, the Super Bowl XLVII. While most of the Super Bowl’s audiences are football fanatics, a good number of people just tune in for the performances, quirky commercials and movie trailer debuts. If you’re a “Walking Dead” fan however, you don’t have to wait for the big show. On Sunday, Feb. 3, Youtube released Time Warner Cable’s walker-packed Super Bowl commercial.
Time Warner Cable’s commercial features “The Walking Dead” favorite Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and, of course, a lot of walkers.
The 31 second clip begins with a woman doing the dishes; she’s cleaning what appear to be guts out of some plates. The woman goes upstairs to her daughter’s room where the doors read ‘Don’t Open Dead Inside’ – this is where fans will squeal, knowing it’s for “The Walking Dead.”
The mother is cleaning after walkers around her house when one is shot right in the head with an arrow – more cheers from fans are expected here, knowing it’s no other than Daryl Dixon. The woman turns to Daryl and says, “We just had those painted, Daryl.” An ashamed Daryl looks at the ground and then replies, “I’m sorry…”
She then turns to her husband, who tries to explain, “They’re at this prison…and –“ He is cut off by his wife who tells him and Daryl to clean up. Daryl replies, “Yes, ma’am.” And the commercial closes with Time Warner Cable’s ad.
