Watch the Super Bowl online, free and live, when Super Bowl XLVIII takes place on Feb. 2, according to a Jan. 21 report in Variety. Besides watching the Super Bowl online free, you'll also see the halftime show with Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chile Peppers and other Super Bowl programming like the “Fox Super Bowl Sunday Pregame Show”—also for free.

In a first, you can watch the Super Bowl online on the “Fox Sports Go” iPad app from 12 a.m. (Eastern time) on Sunday, Feb. 2 to 3 a.m. (Eastern time) on Monday Feb. 3. This is the first time a Super Bowl will be streaming in an iPad app. The “Fox Sports Go” app is a free download in the App Store.

Fox is also streaming Super Bowl 2014 online and for free at to your computer, live. NBC was the first broadcaster to stream the Super Bowl to a web site in 2012. CBS followed NBC's example and streamed the Super Bowl to the Internet last year at

But unlike the free NBC and CBS streams of past Super Bowls, Fox Sports is doing something new with its Super Bowl XLVIII stream at Instead of just one stream of Super Bowl 2014 in English, there will also be a second Super Bowl 2014 stream in Spanish. This is the first time in the United States that the Super Bowl will be streamed in Spanish.

Fox cannot stream Super Bowl 2014 to smartphones, like the iPhone or the Android Galaxy, because the NFL has a separate agreement with Verizon Wireless for streaming games to smartphones--and this is the first year that the Super Bowl is included in that deal.

This year's Super Bowl 2014 match up is between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle SeaHawks at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford in New Jersey on Sunday, Feb. 2.
