Perhaps Sony is starting to get a little nervous about Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy, because they are flooding the market with promos for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. A new trailer for the superhero film has been released, dubbed "Rise of Electro", and focusing on the villain played by Jamie Foxx. There's some new footage here expanding on scenes we've already seen plenty of (Times Square again??), but nothing that's going to generate any real buzz.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Dane DeHaan, and Chris Cooper, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2nd.

PLOT: It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
