Watch Super Bowl XLVI at Macomb County's best sports bars

Some of the best places to watch the XLVI Super Bowl match today can be found in Macomb County.  The Super Bowl first started in 1967, and there were few sports bars in the area to watch the game and enjoy some food and drink.

The XLVI Super Bowl takes place Sunday, February 5th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.  The kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on NBC.  In the Detroit area that is WDIV, Channel 4. Michigan’s own Madonna will perform for the first time ever during the halftime show.

Fast forward to this year’s Super Bowl and you can find sports bars every few blocks. 

One sports bar that offered the televised game in 1968 is still around today.  Roger’s Roost was built in 1968 and had about 40 people at this eatery watching the second Super Bowl game.  The tavern now has more than 12 large-screen televisions and is offering specials for their customers today.  There will be a half-time buffet and they will raffle off a 50-inch flat screen TV with proceeds going to the Rainbow Connection.  Rogers Roost is located in Sterling Heights on Schoenherr Road.

Cheli’s Chili, located at 41240 Hayes Road in Clinton Township is hosting it second Super Bowl party with beer and drink specials.  Cheli’s is just one of many sports bars owned by legendary former Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios.

The Tavern at Tina's, located in front of Tina’s Country House banquet center on North Avenue in Macomb Township, is offering specials on Homemade Lasagna and T-Bone steaks, in addition to raffles and prizes.

Ciccarelli's Sports Bar and Theater has the Stoli Girls, raffles for iPads, TV sets and many other sports offerings.  Cost to enter is $10 and the kitchen is stocked with food and beverages. The sports bar is owned by Hall of Fame former Red Wings star Dino Ciccarelli.  The location of the Sports Bar is 46793 Hayes Rd. in Shelby Township.
