Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira performed her song "Medicine" with country superstar Blake Shelton on the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night. The two coaches from "The Voice" brought down the house with their surprise duet.
Shakira teamed up with Shelton for the song "Medicine" from her recently released self-titled album. On the county-pop track, the two artists sing about turning to each other when things go wrong. Among the pop-rock tunes on Shakira's album, "Medine" is a bit of surprise that works well with her and Shelton in the mix.
Shakira and Shelton performed "Medicine" for the first time ever on Sunday night. They took to the stage at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Shakira, in a red gown, and a dressed-up Shelton looked each other in the eyes as they sang their love song. The chemistry between the two really had the crowd going and smiling from ear-to-ear. The fresh change of the pace with "Medicine" at the ACM Awards was just what the doctor ordered.
Shakira's self-titled album was released on March 25 and it debuted at no. 2 on Billboard's albums chart. Shakira and Shelton are currently starring on NBC's "The Voice" alongside Maroon 5's Adam Levine and Usher.
