The official teaser-trailer for the movie adaptation of Divergent has fans pumped for the movie's March 2014 release.
The first look was finally revealed to audiences at large Sunday night during the pre-show for the MTV Video Music Awards, before blasting onto the Internet.
The approximately one-minute clip features a bounty of footage from the movie, featuring Shailene Woodley as the heroine Tris, Theo James as love interest Four, and Kate Winslet as the sinister Jeanine Matthews.
"The future belongs to those who know where they belong," Winslet's character declares as the video begins. In the book, teens are forced to choose from one of five "factions," where they will focus on things like agriculture, defense, or social work. But as the trailer goes on to establish, Woodley's character Tris is "Divergent" -- someone who doesn't fit into any of these categories, therefore marking her a threat to the story's dystopian society.
