Just in time to help promote her latest studio album, R&B artist Jhené Aiko has released a new music video. The video is for the album's official second single, “The Pressure”, which has been on iTunes since July.
“The Pressure” is based on the stress that surrounded Aiko during the completion of her own debut album, Sail Out, in 2013, as well as Souled Out. It is reflected in the music video itself, release on August 2, which is a series of scenes illustrating the different 'pressures' in Aiko's life – love, friendship, motherhood, her music career.
For Aiko, both albums are a return to a life of music she had previously put on hold so she could pursue an education and become a mother. Since then, she has returned to form and has worked on various tracks with such big name artists as Common and Childish Gambino.
Jhené Aiko's second studio album, Souled Out, will be dropped into music stores in the United States and online venues on September 9. Produced by No I.D. and released by Def Jam Records, there will be twelve tracks in total. There will also be a deluxe edition and a United Kingdom/Target exclusive edition. The deluxe edition of Souled Out is currently available for pre-order through iTunes.
