Ti West's 'The Sacrament' gets a Red-Band trailer
Ti West's 'The Sacrament'

On February 22, a new Red Band trailer for upcoming horror film 'The Sacrament' was released.

'The Sacrament' is another of the "found footage" genre, but unlike ghost tales or possession stories, 'The Sacrament' is something else altogether.

The film stars Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Kentucker Audley, Amy Seimetz and Gene Jones (most of whom were in last year's horror comedy 'You're Next) and is directed by Ti West ('House Of The Devil') and produced by Eli Roth ('Hostel).

Anyone who has seen any news or documentary piece of the 1978 Jonestown massacre can get a gist of the subject matter; two reporters for Vice Magazine travel to a rural compound for a piece about their friend looking for his long lost father.

What they find is a seeming paradise, but one ruled (like many cults) by an abusive, egomaniacal father figure, who doesn't like the truth about his group being exposed to the outside world. While details are made purposely vague, it looks to have a frightening (and bloody) conclusion.

So (if you're 17 or older), take a look at the trailer and see if 'The Sacrament' captures your interests? It'll premiere on VOD May 1st and in theatrical release June 6th.
