MTV brought back its iconic "MTV Unplugged" series on Wednesday night with Miley Cyrus. She performed many songs from her latest album "Bangerz." The highlight moment, though, was when the Queen of Pop Madonna joined Cyrus for a mash-up of their hits "We Can't Stop" and "Don't Tell Me."
Cyrus became a worldwide phenomenon last year for her wild antics like twerking on the MTV Video Music Awards. The former Disney starlet did "MTV Unplugged" on Tuesday night (which aired tonight) to put her vocal prowess at the forefront. She performed stripped, country versions of her "Bangerz" songs like "4X4" and "#GETITRIGHT" and covered Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Miley still got some twerking and tongue-wagging in, of course.
For the finale, Cyrus did "We Can't Stop" with Madonna's 2000 single "Don't Tell Me." In a blue cowgirl outfit, Miley sang a few lines of latter before a studded Madonna took to the stage. The two singers grinded on each other and did some hoedown-inspired dance moves. Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" later cut in and Madonna sang, "If you're not ready to go home / Can I get a 'hell no.'" Miley and Madonna seamlessly mashed-up their defiant anthems into one fun performance.
Cyrus' "Bangerz" album was released last year in October and it peaked at no. 1 on Billboard's albums chart.
