The upcoming science fiction thriller Oblivion won't hit theaters for several months, but fans can check out an exclusive look at the making of the film score. On Sunday, Jan. 13 the French band M83 posted a behind the scenes video of a drum battle while in the studio working on the official music score for the film. The video is barely a minute long, but gives fans a glimpse into what to expect music wise for the film's action sequences.
The group's music has been featured in several movies and television shows and the current members include Anthony Gonzalez, Jordan Lawlor, Morgan Kibby, Ian Young, and Loïc Maurin. The official plot synopsis for the film can be found below:
Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack's mission is nearly complete.
Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.
The Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy) directed action film will fly into IMAX theaters on April 12, 2013 and receive a worldwide release on April 19. Oblivion stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Zoe Bell and Andrea Riseborough. Check out the official website, Facebook, and Twitter for more information.
