On Sept. 9, 2013, George Zimmerman was questioned by police due to a possible domestic altercation with his estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman. You may watch live streaming news coverage from Lake Mary, Florida here: Watch Florida News Live Streaming It is odd that in the midst of a police interview regarding domestic violence, there is live streaming media coverage, but that is to be expected with the national, media attention Zimmerman garnered after shooting and killing Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012.
Zimmerman can be seen on live streaming video standing while being questioned by several police officers. According to early reports, Shellie Zimmerman called 911 from her father’s house saying that George Zimmerman threatened her and her father with a gun. Florida is quite serious when it comes to domestic violence, and if there is any evidence of a physical altercation; someone will go to jail. Additionally, Florida does not hesitate to arrest women and charge them with domestic violence. Police are discerning who the aggressor truly is, whether an act of violence did occur, and if so to take the perpetrator into custody. One thing the state of Florida does not do, is question people involved in domestic violence disputes then let them go their separate ways to “cool off.”
If there was a physical altercation, someone will go to jail.
Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce last week so it is apparent that things are stressed between the two.
Mark O’Mara continues to represent Zimmerman and stated that his client is being questioned, but has not been taken into custody.
