On March 14, 2013, Jodi Arias returns to court where her first-degree murder, death penalty trial will continue. Arias concluded 18 days of testimony where she gave her version of the events that transpired on June 4, 2008, when she states she killed Mesa, Arizona man Travis Alexander in self-defense. Alexander’s body was discovered on June 9, 2008, and forensic experts testified he had been stabbed 29 times and was dead when a gunshot was fired to his head. A bullet casing was found caked in blood near the shower stall where Alexander’s body was retrieved.

Arias has concluded her testimony and the defense is expected to introduce two, final witnesses who will lend their credibility to Arias’ self-defense claims and support her theory of having battered women’s syndrome.
