Watch: HyunA tears up SXSW with special live set during K-pop Night Out showcase

K-pop superstar HyunA did a special live set in the Austin, Texas during the SXSW music festival. On Tuesday night (March 11), she tore up the K-pop Night Out showcase with her animated songs like "Bubble Pop!" and "Ice Cream."

HyunA is mostly known in the U.S. for her cameo appearance in PSY's "Gangnam Style" music video, which she later spun off in a female version titled "Oppa is Just My Style." Before PSY, she was one of the bigger K-pop stars racking up millions of views on YouTube for the sweet and sexy clip "Bubble Pop!". When not solo, Hyuna is a part of the girl group 4Minute and the side project Trouble Maker with Beast's Hyunseung.

In Austin, it was all about HyunA, though. Wearing a two-piece sunflower-covered outfit with a white jacket, HyunA opened her short but energetic set with "Bubble Pop!". She and her hipsterfied dancers smiled and shimmied through the dubstep-inflected bubblegum track (video here). HyunA also performed her debut solo single "Change" and the song "Attention" (video here). Things really heated up with her naughty hip-hop tune "Ice Cream" (video up top). "I'll melt you down like ice cream," she teased while dropping it low. The set was reportedly 15 minutes long but HyunA made the most of her time, showcasing the different sides of herself and her music.

HyunA will return to the music scene on March 17 when 4Minute makes a comeback.

Special thanks to Aaron Kernell, Neil Diaz and the AU Review for the YouTube videos.
