Watch Houston chefs compete at the Menu of Menus' Iron Fork

Have you ever wanted to experience the excitement of the Food Network show Iron Chef in real life? Get your tickets now for the April 8 Houston Press's Menu of Menus at Silver Street Station. This event from 7 to 10 p.m. will give you a chance to peruse the booths at this enormous food and wine event. You will also be able to watch the live Iron Fork competition.

What is Iron Fork?

Just like the show Iron Chef, the Iron Fork competition pits two chefs against each other to create the tastiest and most creative dishes using a basket of standard ingredients and one secret ingredient that will not be revealed until the contest begins. Randy Evans, who is the chef at Haven, will moderate the battle, and two of Houston's local chefs will be competing. Kevin Naderi from Roost is returning from his winning title last year, and he will be challenged by Kevin Bryant from Eleven XI.

A panel of Houston-area celebrities and foodies will judge the food. While the audience won't get to sample the food, they will get the chance to witness the high-paced creative cooking of the competition live. During the event, take notes on how real Houston restaurant chefs think on their feet to prepare a gourmet dish in a short amount of time. You can use their time management and kitchen techniques in your own home when preparing dinner after a long day at work.

Things to Remember

This event is for 21 and up because all attendees have the option of sampling beers, wines and spirits. You will be asked for ID at the door. Come hungry to sample foods from many Houston-area local restaurants. Parking for the event will be on area streets, with the exception of coned areas that are reserved for valet parking for the Menu of Menus.
