Watch HBO's first teaser for 'Girls' season four

HBO has released the first teaser trailer for its critically acclaimed and Emmy award winning show, Girls. Often the subject of intense scrutiny and lively water cooler discussion, HBO's hit comedy will return for its fourth season in early 2015.

The teaser features series creator and star, Lena Dunham, who plays the always divisive Hannah Horvath, on her way to her college campus via bicycle. True to character, Hannah doesn't make it to her final destination without some clumsy hi jinx occurring first. You can check out the full thirty second spot above.

When we last left Hannah at the end of season four, she had quit her stuffy writing job at GQ Magazine, had an implied break-up with on-screen boyfriend Adam (played by Adam Driver), and had just been accepted into the illustrious Iowa Writer's Workshop for graduate school. The first three seasons of Girls have all been set in New York City, arguably its own character on the show, so Hannah's journey to the mid-west will surely change up the scenery.

With the other 'girls' on the show, Marie (Alison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke), and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), still calling the Big Apple their home, its unclear how Hannah's storyline will coincide with those of the other characters on the show or how long her character will remain in Iowa.

The multi-talented Dunham writes, directs, and stars on Girls and received the 2013 Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical. She executive produces Girls for HBO with Jenni Konner and Judd Apatow.
