The New York Cycle Club has announced its second annual Kids Ride Club benefit at the elite, intimate Crosby Street Hotel in Soho, set for Monday, March 26.
Last year the club raised $3,500 to contribute to the Kids Ride Club, a joint volunteer program of the NYCC, Woodhull Hospital, Recycle a Bicycle, I.S. 318, P.S. 257and HealthFirst. It introduces young Brooklyn and Queens students to the joys of bike riding, teaches them skills and safety and shows kids how to incorporate cycling into their daily activities.
Dr. Ed Fishkin, the medical director of Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, founded the KRC 17 years ago.
The benefit evening features a screening of the wonderful animated feature film "Triplets of Belleville" in the Crosby's own chic screening room, as well as food and drinks, a silent auction, gift card from Bicycle Habitat, a Crumpler "Hoojah" digital device bag, plus raffle prizes from EMS and REI.
The cost to attend the benefit is $75 per person. Tickets are on sale through the NYCC There is room for just 120 guests; last year the event was sold out.
