Deadline.com posted the third and final trailer for upcoming film 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' on June 18, 2014. And the extended clip gives the biggest glimpse thus far into what viewers can expect from the latest installment in the long running sci-fi franchise.
And to put it succinctly, it looks quite thrilling. The trailer gives further scope to the conflict between the ape colony and a group of people who've survived the Simian Flu that has wiped out most of humanity.
Ape leader Caesar looks to be approaching the situation peacefully, decreeing "Apes do not want war!" But the ominous sneer of fellow chimp Koba shows there's dissension amongst their ranks.
Koba plays a large part in the prequel novel 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes:Firestorm', and this preview makes perfectly clear how big a part he has to play in the upcoming film. And like Caesar, he can also talk, and makes clear his distrust of both his chosen leader and the humans: "Caesar love humans more than ape!"
Director Matt Reeves ('Let Me In') offers many epic, escalating scenes of ape on human warfare, and impressive mixes of live-action and CGI-motion-capture. San Francisco again looms large in the set pieces (even if much of the film was shot in New Orleans).
So feast your eyes and ears on the final trailer for 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' and tells us your thoughts in the comments. 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' opens on July 11, 2014.
