The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam (SWFEC) is online 24/7 and providing homeschool students and their families the perfect opportunity to learn more about the nation’s bird. The bald eagles are named Ozzie and Harriet and millions of viewers have tuned in to watch their eggs hatch. The first eaglet hatched on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, the second on Christmas day. The live streaming eagle cam is set up in Fort Myers, Florida and is a great addition to any unit study.

There are live updates available on the official UStream site where the SWFEC video streams from, and past videos continue to be added, such as “hatch watch,”ensuring those who are new to the web cam can relive the joyous moments. The eaglets have created quite a buzz and fans can follow on Twitter as well as the official Facebook page. The Facebook page is an excellent way to view photos of the eaglets, monitor their growth, get the latest updates, and simply share the fun and excitement of watching these creatures in their natural environment.
