'Watch Dogs' lead platform is the PC, console releases will be ported (Photos)

When Ubisoft first revealed their new IP, “Watch Dogs,” at last year's E3 event, it was made clear that this title was running on a high-end PC at the time of this presentation. Just recently, at the PS4 reveal event, we were finally given another glimpse of “Watch Dogs” and its fantastic visual presentation.

NoW that this title has been confirmed for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and presumably the Xbox 720, gamers have been questioning what will be the lead platform for “Watch Dogs.” According to a report by DSOGaming yesterday, Ubisoft has now confirmed that the lead platform for “Watch Dogs” is the PC. All other platforms will be receiving a port from the PC version of this title. PC gamers will be pleased with this announcement, seeing that this confirms that “Watch Dogs” will be highly optimized on the PC platform.

“We expect fewer problems with porting games to the PS4 than the PS3, which had a completely different infrastructure. Previously, we developed games first on the Xbox 360 and then translated them onto the PS3. It took a lot of time and money to port. Now we develop first on the PC and port to all other consoles.”
