After a delay last year, Ubisoft announced Thursday that the highly anticipated Watch Dogs will finally launch to the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC this May. A new trailer was also released though there is no word on when the Wii U version will see the light of day.
Watch Dogs will land on all platforms except the Wii U on May 27, 2014 according to a press release from Ubisoft. The Wii U version simply states that it "will be available at a later date."
The newly released trailer focuses on the story of Watch Dogs as Aiden Pearce takes the role of a vigilante hero after a hit is put out on him that results in the deaths of those he loved. He'll be aided along the way while also opposed by man who treats the city of Chicago as his own personal empire.
Pearce can equip a number of weapons as well as drive a number of cars in his quest for justice but it is the smartphone that allows him to hack Chicago's central operating system (ctOS) that is his primary weapon and the game's hook.
