Ubisoft released a new gameplay video for Watch Dogs on Wednesday that includes commentary from Ubisoft animation director Colin Graham. Unlike many other looks at the upcoming PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC game, this one shows Aiden Pearce using his hacking skills to take over the computer systems in a low-income area of Chicago before showing off the open-world nature of the title by moving to the historical district of Chicago, the Loop.
The gameplay video drops the viewer in the Wards, an area where Pearce doesn't yet have full access and control of the "CtOS" (Central Operating System) that runs the city of Chicago. Ubisoft's Graham walks through how Pearce gains access to a heavily guraded CtOS control center in order to plant a virus and gain the access he needs to hack to his heart's content.
Ubisoft will let players decide whether they want to go into the control center with guns blazing, use stealth to sneak around or hack from a distance without ever setting foot in the facility.
Once Pearce gains full access he is able to use the CtOS to manipulate traffic lights, road blocks and gain access to personal information and crime prediction software.
While Pearce can use his hacking abilities to his advantage, players will need to be careful of his reputation or else NPCs will recognize him for any crimes he commits and report him to police quickly.
Watch Dogs will release to the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC on Nov. 19, the PS4 on Nov. 15 and the Xbox One on Nov. 22.
