You won't see this in your barbershop any time soon, but you can see it right here in the video clip to the left. Tuesday's video release showed Justin Timberlake doing something no boy band member has done in recent history; he sang with The Ragtime Gals and Jimmy Fallon in front of hysterical audience members. Singing the harmonically balanced "SexyBack" the group took it to the bridge, the chorus and to the outer edges of respectable.
One does not usually associate sex appeal with a barbershop quartet, but somehow this group managed to make it sound like something from the early 1900s with a touch of year 2006 thrown in. Justin Timberlake was almost not recognized by some fans, dressed in a striped yellow, green and red jacket and hat. The red bow tie added that final authentic touch. The lack of instruments added to the authenticity not allowing for any cover-ups of mistakes.
Jimmy Fallon shone as he sang the closing stanza, the harmonies were great until the ending note when Justin Timberlake managed to miss his upscale note. The crowd was in on the fun clapping rhythmically throughout the song. All in all, it was great fun and despite not becoming a viral video, it seems that this group could make a few more remixes to entertain the crowds.
