Watch as high school grad strips off his robe, shows some skin: Diploma denied

Pulling some shenanigans at your high school graduation is nothing new. Many a grad have taken the solemn moment of ceremony and dignity and turned it into their personal staging ground for one last outgoing prank. What is new is this North Carolina school’s decision – the class clown won’t be getting his diploma.

Senior Quinton Murphy on Wednesday graduated from Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, though he has no diploma to prove it. As Murphy was walking across the graduation stage and was just about to receive his diploma, the senior stopped, quickly got out of his robe, and did a brief, arm-raised shakedown in his leopard-print briefs and nothing else. The audience gasped, Murphy ran off, and now school officials are ticked.

Superintendent Frank Till Jr. said: “Our schools have worked so hard. It used to be that the audience would be disruptive at graduation. We've worked hard to get the audiences to respect our students. This young man chose not to show respect for his colleagues.”

The superintendent said that Murphy is still technically a graduate, and he can prove it with his school transcripts if needed, but that he is not turning over the diploma. Till also recommended to Jack Britt principal Denise Garison that she “bar him from the school’s property and events, such as football games.”

So the stripping prank stripped Murphy of his diploma. Was the prank worth it? Leave your thoughts below.
