Today, Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) announced its 2010 Board during its annual meeting at the Hyatt Grand Washington in downtown Washington, DC.  Out-going President Lauren Lawson was honored for her many years of service to the board and WWPR. With more than three years of WWPR involvement as its Marketing and Communications Co-Chair and Vice President, Debbie Friez (Vice President of Major Accounts at Burrelles Luce) will serve as President of the professional organization of communicators in 2010.  The 2010 WWPR board members were also announced.  Many of these members will be familiar to the Washington, DC communications community for their involvement with WWPR and other organizations. Joining Debbie Friez in managing the organization in 2010 are

Professional Development Co-Chairs: Lisa Newman, MediaLink and Macie Mulvaney, Medialink

Membership Chair: Caitlin Douglas, Ogilvy PR Worldwide

Pro Bono Co-Chairs: Deborah Brody, Deborah Brody Marketing Communications and Tina McCormack, C.Fox Communications

Partnerships Chair: Kendra Kojcsich, Porter Novelli

Web Site Support Chair: Akilah Luke, Cultural DC

WWPR is particularly well known for its pro bono work. WWPR will continue to provide pro bono public relations service to the Children’s Law Center through January 2011.
